Liadov | Rachmaninoff | Dvorák

The theme of the final Masterworks concert looks ahead to the future of the Knox-Galesburg Symphony as we prepare to search for our next Music Director.

Infrequently performed, Liadov’s “The Enchanted Lake” is a delightful piece based on a folk story that will evoke a wonderful peacefulness to prepare for Rachmaninoff’s “Piano Concerto No 2.” Clipper Erickson returns to Galesburg after a spectacular performance in April 2014.

The final piece on this concert is Dvorak’s “Symphony No. 8 in G Major, his last symphony before traveling to America.

As we prepare for the next generation of the Knox-Galesburg Symphony, we reflect fondly on the many successes of our past under the leadership of Dr. Bruce Polay.
